1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Nocito™ ("the app", "the service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the app.
These Terms apply to all versions of Nocito™ on all platforms where it is available.
2. What Nocito™ Is — and Is Not
Nocito™ is
- A personal expense tracking tool for capturing and organising your own spending
- An AI-assisted utility for extracting data from receipts, PDFs, screenshots, and voice input
- A private, local-first app — your data stays on your device by default
Nocito™ is not
- Accounting software or a replacement for professional bookkeeping
- A tax preparation or tax filing tool
- A legally certified record-keeping system
- A financial advisory service
- A banking or payment application
Important: Tax regulations, receipt formats, and legal record-keeping requirements vary by country. Nocito™ makes no representations about compliance with any specific national tax or accounting laws. Consult a qualified accountant or tax advisor for official financial records.
3. AI Accuracy and Limitations
Nocito™ uses cloud and local AI models to extract information from receipts and other documents. This process can produce errors, including but not limited to:
- Incorrect amounts, dates, or merchant names
- Misclassified expense categories
- Missed or duplicated line items
- Inaccurate handling of non-standard or handwritten receipts
- Errors due to poor image quality, unusual formatting, or unsupported languages
Note that local AI models, which run entirely on your device for privacy, may produce less accurate results than cloud models on certain documents. You can switch between local and cloud processing in Settings.
You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all extracted data before relying on it. The Quick Review screen is provided for exactly this purpose. We do not guarantee the accuracy of AI extraction and accept no liability for decisions made based on incorrectly extracted data.
4. Your Responsibilities
By using Nocito™, you agree to:
- Use the app for lawful purposes only
- Not use the app to process documents belonging to others without their consent
- Verify the accuracy of AI-extracted data before relying on it for any important purpose
- Maintain your own official financial records separately from Nocito™ if required by law or for business purposes
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, modify, or redistribute the app
- Not use the app in any way that could harm other users, third parties, or the integrity of the service
5. Subscriptions and Payments
Free tier
Nocito™ offers a free tier with limited AI captures per month. No payment information is required to use the free tier.
Paid tiers
Nocito™ currently offers a Pro subscription tier via Google Play in-app purchases. Additional paid tiers are planned for future versions. By purchasing a subscription:
- You agree to the pricing displayed at time of purchase
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
- You can cancel at any time via Google Play — your access continues until the end of the paid period
- Refunds are subject to Google Play's refund policy
- We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice
Super Dictate and future credit add-ons
Super Dictate (higher-accuracy cloud voice transcription) is included in the Pro subscription, up to the monthly session limit stated on our pricing page. No separate purchase is required.
Future Pro versions of Nocito™ may introduce Super Quality Credits — a premium add-on for features requiring higher-accuracy AI processing (such as Super Snap). These credits would be available as in-app purchases and would be non-refundable once consumed. Super Snap and Super Quality Credits are not available in the current version.
Platform fees: Google Play charges a platform fee (15–30%) on all in-app purchases. This fee is deducted before we receive payment and is not within our control.
6. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, and branding in Nocito™ — including the Nocito™ name, logo, and app icon — are the property of Nocito™ and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Your expense data belongs to you. We claim no ownership over the data you enter or capture in the app.
You may not use the Nocito™ name, logo, or any of our branding without prior written permission.
7. Data and Privacy
Your use of Nocito™ is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please read it carefully.
The key privacy commitments:
- Your expense data is stored locally on your device by default
- Receipt images are never sent to AI — only sanitised extracted text
- PDF import uses local OCR extraction by default — cloud PDF processing is an opt-in setting
- Voice dictation uses cloud transcription by default — local on-device transcription is an opt-in setting that requires downloading a local model within the app
- AI expense parsing uses cloud processing by default — local on-device AI is an opt-in setting that requires downloading a local model within the app
- Anonymous crash reports are sent to Sentry for stability monitoring — no personal data included
- No advertising, tracking, or analytics SDKs are included in the app
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
Nocito™ is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
- Warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- Warranties regarding the accuracy of AI-extracted data
- Warranties that the app will meet your specific requirements
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Nocito™ and its developers shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
- Errors or inaccuracies in AI-extracted expense data
- Financial decisions made based on data processed by the app
- Any tax penalties, legal issues, or financial losses arising from use of the app
In any case, our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
10. Termination
You may stop using Nocito™ at any time by uninstalling the app. This will delete all locally stored data.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to paid features if you violate these Terms. For subscription cancellation, use Google Play's built-in subscription management.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the in-app "What's New" popup and update the effective date above. Continued use of Nocito™ after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Croatia, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Croatia.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may also have rights under the laws of your country of residence that cannot be excluded by this clause.
